Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This policy explains what personal data examjuice (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We are the data controller for the personal data described here, and we process it in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Data We Collect
- Account data — your name, email address, and (if you sign up with a password) a securely hashed password. If you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive your name, email, and profile image from that provider.
- Study data — the level, exam board, and subjects you choose, the questions you attempt, your self-marked scores, and your activity history.
- Tutor content — messages and photos you submit to ExamJuice Tutor, processed to generate hints, explanations, and marking.
- Payment data — billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your card details; we keep only a customer/subscription reference needed to manage your plan.
- Technical data — basic information such as your device and browser, and cookies needed to keep you signed in.
2. How We Use Your Data
- to provide the platform — generating questions, marking, and tracking progress;
- to manage your account, subscription, and usage limits;
- to keep the service secure and prevent abuse;
- to respond to support requests and important service notices.
3. Legal Bases
We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the service), to comply with legal obligations (such as tax and accounting), and for our legitimate interests in running and improving examjuice securely. Where we rely on consent — for example, optional communications — you can withdraw it at any time.
4. Sharing and Processors
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, including our hosting and database providers, Stripe (payments), and the AI providers that power ExamJuice Tutor. These providers act under contract and may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) are in place.
5. Retention
We keep your account and study data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data and attempt history, except where we are required to retain limited records (for example, payment records for tax purposes).
6. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to data portability. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, or contact us to exercise any of these rights. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
7. Children
examjuice is intended for students aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, you should review this policy with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform, and the “last updated” date above will always reflect the current version.
